Highlights sixth six weeks

April, May, and June
Begin to sing their end of the year tune.
Fourth grade has so much to shout about
Before our final clap out.

In Texas history, we will gain understanding
Of the Alamo and who was commanding.
We will look at the battle and its effect
On the state we love and respect.

Problem solving will continue in math
A look at fifth grade material will help us down the path.
In science we will plug into electricity
Circuits, breakers – all the nitty gritty.

For reading, Narnia will be our focus
We will enjoy the fantasy and all its hocus pocus
We will strengthen our skills before the TAKS test
And show the state our very best

Writing will cover poetry (in case you can’t tell)
We hope our rhymes will cast a spell.
Then persuade or compare and contrast?
It is so hard to tell what we will write last.

The six weeks will also include
A Durham and Eubanks field trip interlude.
Kickball, Field Day, scrapbook, and tears
It is so hard to leave CES after all these years.

To our parents, we say thank you for all your support
This job is easier with you as a cohort.
To our students, we will miss you and wish you the best
Show the intermediates you are above the rest.
