Durham Elementary School
History

Don T. Durham Elementary School opened in August, 1995.

The school was named after Don. T. Durham. Mr. Durham was the high school principal and the girl's basketball coach. His wife, Martha, recently retired last year, as the school nurse at Carroll Elementary School.

Mr. Mark Terry was named the first principal in the spring of 1995. 

Mrs. Kim Lawson became principal during the spring of 2001 when Mr. Terry assumed
the principal ship at the newly opened Eubanks Intermediate school in the 2001-2002 school year.

Dr. Elizabeth McIlvain became principal mid summer 2003.
