Applications

I completed an application and would like to update it. Is my application still current or do I have to start over?
Carroll ISD implemented a new online application process as of March 12, 2008 for certified and administrative positions. A new online application process was implemented for classified positions (auxiliary, clerical, teachers' aides/assistants), and substitutes on May 1, 2008. If you applied before these dates, it will be necessary to complete a new application.

I visited the Region XI website. Is it necessary to complete an application for each school district listed?
No. All school districts participating in the Region XI consortium will have access to candidates' online applications.

Once I have completed and submitted the online application, how do I receive confirmation of receipt?
Please do not call or E-mail to inquire receipt of application. Once an online application is received, an automated response will be sent with the following message: "Thank you for using the Applicant Tracking System."

I'm interested in applying for Classified and Professional positions. Am I required to complete separate applications?
Yes. Two separate applications must be completed - one for Classified positions and one for Professional positions.

Once I've completed my online application, how can I view the jobs for which I've applied?
To view this information, log-in to the Online Application Account and select "Applied Jobs."

What's the status of my application? Will my completed application allow me to contact campus principals to inquire about vacancies?
All campus administrators have access to online applications and will contact applicants and make decisions regarding potential interviews and employment opportunities. Completion of an application does not guarantee an interview. Interviews are contingent upon vacancy, eligibility and need.

Certification

Am I required to be certified to teach in Texas before applying for jobs in Carroll ISD?
Applicants eligible to apply for a teaching position must have the following:

  • a valid Texas teaching certificate, or:
  • an out-of-state teaching certificate, credentials reviewed by the Texas Education Agency, taken and passed the TExES exam for content area, or:
  • have a letter from TEA permitting exemption from taking exams, or:
  • have a degree and have chosen an alternative entity and taken and passed the TExES exam for content area.

Applicants who have a degree but are not certified must be seeking an alternative program or be certified to teach in another state. There is a place on the application for candidates to indicate participation in an alternative certification program - or a place to designate that a program is being sought. Information regarding How To Become A Teacher In Texas, can be found on the Texas Education Agency website at www.tea.state.tx.us.

Credentials

If I'm unable to upload information to the system, may I send copies of my resume, recommendation letters and transcripts by U.S. mail?
No. All resumes, recommendation letters and transcripts must be attached and sent electronically with the online application. School administrators have access to applicant information and are only able to download online applications, along with credentials, electronically. On the attachment page of the application, click "Add file attachment" and scroll down. Click on the link "Having trouble attaching your document? Click here for help."

Am I able to mail my credentials if I don't have access to a scanning machine?
No. Carroll ISD's goal is to create and maintain a paperless application process. The Personnel Department will contact applicants should additional information be required.
