City of Ember:
  by Jeanne DuPrau
This book is literally keeping me up into the wee hours of the morning. It is about a boy (Doon)  and a girl (Lina)  who live in a city called Ember that has no sunlight.  Their only light comes from a very old generator underground, and it is slowly causing the city lights to flicker.  Lina finds part of an ancient message, she’s sure it holds a secret that will save the city. She and her friend Doon must decipher the message before the lights go out on Ember forever! It is one of those books I do not want to end.  Thank goodness there is a sequel!  They are also making a movie of it to be released next October. I wonder if it is too early to start a line?

Gregor the Overlander:  by Suzanne Collins
While playing hide-and-seek, Gregor and his little sister Boots go down the washing machine pipe and discover a beautiful stone city
named Regalia.  Gregor is chosen to be their warrior.  I have read all five of the books.  I love them!

Dinosaurs Before Dark:

 by Mary Pope Osborne

Jack and Annie find a tree house that is magic. The tree house has lots of books in it. So Jack and Annie go in the past and they find a Pteranodon. The Pteranodon helps them. The first book was one of the best ones. I have read almost all of the Magic Tree House books.
