The Quest program utilizes Dr. George Betts’ Autonomous Learner Model for the Gifted and Talented. This model challenges students to be responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of their own learning. The CISD Quest curriculum is based on the state TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge & Skills). Gifted curriculum incorporates many learning objectives in each unit of study that are appropriate to the development of gifted students.

Quest Curriculum:

Is interdisciplinary
Is appropriate for the advanced learner
Incorporates the opportunity to develop students’ creative and critical thinking skills

Requires the use of diverse resources including technology
Permits students to choose topics that are of particular interest to them
