Rockenbaugh Elementary Teacher of the Year

Rebecca Whittle, Rockenbaugh Elementary, 4^th Grade

As the daughter of a 38-year veteran teacher, Rebecca Whittle saw the influence and difference her mother had on her students. Rebecca followed the same path and began her teaching career the same year her mother retired. Rebecca’s passion for being a teacher went back to her Christmas wish list – an overhead projector. Her love for teaching is endless and she became a natural leading students. Rebecca, who has taught at Rockenbaugh for the past four years, has also volunteered and helped raise over $5,000 for Relay For Life. In the classroom, Whittle’s focus is student engagement and great relationships with students and finding unique ways to motivate. She finds the most reward from the bond and relationships with the students.
