The Dragon Spirit & Tradition

"Webster defines tradition as a convention handed down in unwritten form established by habitual practice. The Dragon spirit was built on a solid foundation of strong leadership, respect for mankind, ethical behavior, a strong code of conduct, pride, and excellence. These tenets became the 'tradition' referred to in the phrase 'Protect the Tradition' we see in our community today. It is this tradition that brought my family to Carroll ISD twenty years ago. It is also the reason I am proud to be a part of the Carroll system as a faculty member."

"The education of a student goes beyond 'book learning' encompassing leadership, respect for others, acceptance of differences, and pride. A strong foundation allows one to strive for excellence in everything, whether academically, through fine arts or athletically. It is an unwavering tradition here at Carroll. Celebrating successes and supporting struggles throughout the years, the employees of our District have held strong to the foundation of the Dragon spirit. Our community, students, and schools have prospered because of this foundation. With growth comes change; it is my hope that we remain true to the Dragon spirit."
