Second Semester Schedule ChangesRequest for schedule changes for the 2nd semester will be accepted the week of December 5th – 9th. Students will receive a copy of their 2nd semester schedule by Friday, December 2. Because yearlong electives require a yearlong commitment, we will only be accepting schedule changes for semester electives. PROCEDURE FOR CHANGES: 1. Student picks up schedule change form from the counseling office. 2. Student checks lists posted outside of counseling office to see what electives are available 3. Student returns completed form with parent signature to counseling office by 3:45 December 9th. **We are unable to accept email or phone request for schedule changes. **If a student is missing an elective or has already taken the elective on his/her schedule, he/she will need to see what electives are available and complete a schedule change form. |

From Your CounselorsParents, While your child is ultimately responsible for his/her own grades, attendance and behavior, they need you to be interested and involved in their academic progress. Here are some ways you can express your interest in their school life. Make sure your child knows that his/her academic progress is important to you. Know when each grading period ends, and make sure that you see all progress reports and reports cards as soon as they come out. If you do not see a report card, contact the school immediately to request a copy. Throughout the semester, recognize effort and improvements. Acknowledge each academic success, even if it’s only a good grade on a quiz or homework assignment. Talk to your child about their classes. Listen: Talk to your child about what’s happening in school. Be available to help with homework, but don’t give more help than is wanted. Finally, work with the school. Know that teachers, counselors, and principals are here to help your child get the best education possible. If you have a concern that relates to a specific teacher or class, call the teacher. For other questions/concerns, call your child’s counselor. Thank you Your CMS Counselor's |
