Family AccessIn order to provide Carroll ISD parents one location to access information regarding their children, the district has launched its new parent portal, myDragons. This site will have one username and password and provide Carroll ISD parents with a gateway to Family Access and other resources.
CISD officials have announced that Family Access is now available from within the myDragons parent portal. Please note that your former Family Access username and password will no longer work in the myDragons parent portal.
All information regarding myDragons parent portal will be handed out during Curriculum Nights at special information tables at the 11 CISD campuses. Family Access is an online program for parents of students in grades 3-12. It gives parents access to schedule, grade and other pertinent school information.
To facilitate the process of this new portal, parents must first complete an authorization form. This form will allow CISD to correctly identify students that belong to the same family. CISD has been transitioning to online enrollment for returning students. Having students correctly identified by families will reduce the paperwork required for returning student enrollment.
About 1,700 Carroll families have already completed the authorization form and enrolled their students online in August. These families already have their myDragons username and password. Parents can now log in to myDragons and find the Family Access link readily available.
Those families that have not already filled out an authorization form and enrolled online must visit the information table during Curriculum Night to begin the process.
If a family has a need for two logins due to the current family situation, one parent/guardian must be identified as the “enrolling” parent. This parent will be able to complete the enrollment forms for his/her child. The other parent/guardian can request a separate username and password and will have full access to the child’s grades and other information. The “enrolling” parent will need to indicate this on the authorization form.
Step-by-Step myDragons/Family Access Procedures
1. If you are already signed up for online enrollment, click on the myDragons link at the top of any CISD web page. Use your online enrollment username and password to enter the myDragons parent portal. You can now begin accessing the Family Access link to view your child’s grades and data.
2. If you did not sign up for online enrollment, visit the information table at your child's school during Curriculum Night. Then complete the authorization form the school representative provides you and submit it to your child’s campus for processing. If you have more than one child in the district, you only need to submit one form to one campus.
3. The campus will submit the form to our Technology Department to verify the children in your family and create your myDragons account.
4. Within five business days of returning your completed form to your child’s campus, you will receive an email containing your myDragons username and password.
5. Once you receive your email confirmation with the username and password, click on myDragons link at the top of any CISD web page and enter your new myDragons username and password to enter the parent portal. Then, click on the Family Access link to view your child’s grade and data.
