The following scholarships can be found in the Scholarship Opportunities File Cabinet in the College and Career Center of the Guidance Department. Other scholarships are available that may not be listed. These are offered by specific universities for designated area of studies. #001 Mark Jameson-Allstate Scholarship Athlete of the Month: A one-time $500.00 scholarship will be awarded each month to a senior student who has excelled in both the classroom and the athletic arena.
Deadline: 15th of each month. Application (for printing).
#002 Wendy’s Heisman High School Scholarship: One male and one female student will be awarded a $10,000 scholarship. Award is based upon academics, athletics and student leadership. Applications must be completed online at: www.wendysheisman.com.

#003 Susan G. Komen College Scholarship: Available for students who will be attending a state universityand is facing financial burdens due to the loss of a parent or guardian to breast cancer or their own breast cancer diagnosis. #004 Horatio Alger Association Scholarship Program: Awarded to students who have financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. Application online at: www.coca-colascholars.org #006 Texas Student Housing Scholarship: Awarded to students accepted to or attending college in Austin, College Station, and Denton, Texas that have NOT signed off campus housing leases. (Note: University of North Texas and Texas Women’s University do not permit first year students to live off campus.

Deadline: January 31, 2011 #010 Fort Worth/Tarrant County A & M Club Scholarships: Awarded to students who will be attending Texas A&M University College Station or Galveston. #011 KFC Colonel’s Scholars Program: Awarded to high school seniors who have a cumulative GPA of 2.75. Student to enroll in a public college within their state of legal residence, plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree, be a US citizen or permanent resident and demonstrate financial need.
