The following scholarships require a nomination; please see your counselor.

The following scholarships can be found in the Scholarship Opportunities File Cabinet in the College and Career Center of the Guidance Department. Other scholarships are available that may not be listed. These are offered by specific universities for designated area of studies. #001 Mark Jameson-Allstate Scholarship Athlete of the Month: A one-time $500.00 scholarship will be awarded each month to a senior student who has excelled in both the classroom and the athletic arena.
Deadline: 15th of each month. Application (for printing).
#002 Wendy’s Heisman High School Scholarship: One male and one female student will be awarded a $10,000 scholarship. Award is based upon academics, athletics and student leadership. Applications must be completed online at: www.wendysheisman.com.

#003 Susan G. Komen College Scholarship: Available for students who will be attending a state universityand is facing financial burdens due to the loss of a parent or guardian to breast cancer or their own breast cancer diagnosis. #004 Horatio Alger Association Scholarship Program: Awarded to students who have financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. Application online at: www.horatioalger.com/scholarships Deadline: October 30, 2011 #005 Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation: Scholarships will be awarded to students who have demonstrated leadership, commitment to community and academic achievement. Application online at: www.coca-colascholars.org #006 Texas Student Housing Scholarship: Awarded to students accepted to or attending college in Austin, College Station, and Denton, Texas that have NOT signed off campus housing leases. (Note: University of North Texas and Texas Women’s University do not permit first year students to live off campus.

Deadline: February 1, 2012 #009 EECU Glenn Mandeville Memorial Scholarship: Awarded to students pursuing a four-year degree in higher education. The scholarship winner, parent or legal guardian must be an EECU member. See website: www.eecu.org
Deadline: January 31, 2011 #010 Fort Worth/Tarrant County A & M Club Scholarships: Awarded to students who will be attending Texas A&M University College Station or Galveston. Grades, class rank, SAT/ACT scores, school activities, community activities, financial need and written essays will be considered in selection process. See application at: www.tarrantcountyaggies.org

#011 KFC Colonel’s Scholars Program: Awarded to high school seniors who have a cumulative GPA of 2.75. Student to enroll in a public college within their state of legal residence, plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree, be a US citizen or permanent resident and demonstrate financial need.

#012 BK Scholars: Scholarships to be awarded to seniors with at least a 2.5 GPA who enroll full time at an accredited 2 or 4 year college or vocational-technical school in the U.S., Canada, or Puerto Rico.

#018 The Scovell Scholarship Foundaltion: Ten (10) scholarships to be awarded to North Texas seniors who continue their higher education in Texas, or at a Big 12 Conference, or Southeastern Conference University. Deadline: March 30, 2012 #026 The Rose Lafferty and Flora Foust Educational Funds Scholarship: Applicant must be a resident of Erath or Tarrant County. Scholarship awarded to worth students, who have financial need, to assist in obtaining college degrees, vocational training or special training for the handicapped. Application for printing.

#027 The Eddleman-McFarland Fund Scholarship: Applicant must be a resident of Parker or Tarrant County. Scholarship awarded to student based on good character, desire to pursue higher education, but need financial help to attain their goals. Application for printing.

#028 Buick Achiever Scholarship Program: Awarded to students who are dedicated both in and out of classroom and who drive positive change in community. Applicants are eligible who plan to major in a field of study that focuses on engineering, technology, design or business, with an interest in the automotive industry. #031 Metroplex Republican Women/Estelle Teague Scholarship: 2 (two) scholarships to be awarded to FEMALE students attending high school in Northeast Tarrant County. Application for printing.

#032 Dallas Mavericks Scholarship: Eligible applicants must live within a 75 mile radius of American Airlines Center. Student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and participate in extracurricular activities. Application for printing.
Deadline: February 24, 2012 #033 The Scovell Scholarship Foundation: Applicant must attend an institution of continuing education that is affiliated with the At&T Cotton Bowl. #034 William T. Meyers Scholarship: $2000.00 awarded to a Carroll Senior High School senior who has completed 4 years of science. Mr. Meyers was a former science teacher at CSHS. Applicant does not have to pursue a degree in a science field. Application for printing.
