Dress Code: Principal's Message

Girls

  • No bare midriffs, halter-tops or tops with a strap less than 2" wide shall be worn.
  • No backless attire is acceptable."

  • My interpretation:
  • If at any point, you can see your stomach or back, DON'T WEAR IT.
  • "Dresses, skirts, and shorts shall be at the first knuckle of a fisted hand in length. No low-cut attire is acceptable.
  • Foundation garments must be worn."

  • My interpretation:
  • If you stand in front of a mirror and can see cleavage, DON'T WEAR IT. If at any point, your gluteus maximus is exposed, or some portion of your undergarments, DON'T WEAR IT.
  • "Specifically prohibited from school are displays of any type of body piercing."

  • My interpretation:
  • As much fun as it must be to shove metal through various parts of your body, this applies to both girls and boys…no body piercing except in the ears. The boys have a more specific guideline below.

Girls, if you can read my interpretation of the rules and abide by them, there will no issue with dress code for you. Now I would hate for you to feel picked on so read further for the boys.

Boys

  • "Hair should be clean and well groomed at all times but should not extend below the eyebrows or over the top of the collar of a shirt. Sideburns may not extend below the bottom of the earlobe.
  • Boys should be clean-shaven at all times."

  • My interpretation:
  • That's right boys…break out the razor and get after the summer growth. If I can grab hold of the whiskers, it's too long.
  • Also, I hear Sport Clips runs specials so if your hair is in your eyes or past the top of a collared shirt, then you need to pay them a visit.
  • Also, "clean and well groomed" is up to the administration. If there is a hair style in question, just come ask us (good rule of thumb would be if you think it's not appropriate, it probably is not appropriate).
  • "Earrings are not encouraged. Only stud earrings may be worn."

  • My interpretation:
  • Very obvious…only stud earrings in the earlobes.
  • "No sleeveless tops/shirts will be allowed." My interpretation: I know you want to show off your biceps, but no one is interested, especially in the undergrowth from under your arms.

  • "Pants must be worn at the waist at all times, covering all undergarments."

  • My interpretation:
  • IT'S CALLED A BELT!!! Keep ‘em pulled up. When I can describe the different patterns on your boxers…I can see too much.
  • See boys, don't you feel loved? Your list was longer than the girls.
