Safety is Buster’s Job
When Buster makes an entrance, the students giggle and grin. However, this cute little bus is all about teaching safety. During Bus Safety Week all Kindergarten through Fourth grade students in Carroll ISD get to visit with Buster on their campuses.
He will talk with them about the Danger Zones around buses and how to avoid them. He shows students the flashing lights on buses and when they are used. He also tells students what to do in case of an emergency.
Buster was purchased in the Spring of 2000 with a grant from the Carroll Education Foundation and is considered an important teaching tool for Carroll ISD.
A Message From Buster
Hi There! It’s me Buster! I am looking forward to meeting all of you and teaching you about Bus Safety very soon. Did you know that many children ride the school bus every year that have never ridden a bus before? They don’t know the rules, or what to do in an emergency. Along with the school bus drivers, I help them learn about those things.
Riding the school bus can be a fun experience, but it is not the place for playing. You will have lots of time to play at home, so please don’t play on the bus.
I’ll be seeing you soon at school. I hope you will laugh a little and learn a lot.
Love,
Buster
