DMS Vision and Mission Statement

About George Dawson
Dawson Middle School was named after George Dawson, a Dallas native who learned to read at the age of 98 and published a book several years later. Mr. Dawson was an inspiration to everyone he met and encouraged children and adults, alike, to be life-long learners. He passed away at the age of 103 but was sincerely honored to have Carroll ISD's newest school named after him. Mr. Dawson's name was submitted by a CISD student for School Board approval after meeting him during Dawson's visit to Carroll Intermediate School.
