VARIETY SHOW -

Mark those calendars!  The annual Variety Show is scheduled for February 26-27, 2010 in the Carroll Senior HS Auditorium.  What began 26 years ago as a fundraiser for the choir boosters club has turned into a tradition that locals look forward to each year. Do you have a talent you'd love to show off in front of an appreciative local crowd?  Great!  Just logon on to www.dragonchoir.net  to complete an on-line audition application or stop by the choir room at the Senior High School to pick up an application.  Young and old alike are encouraged to audition - this is not limited to Carroll students! The dates for auditions are January 27th and 28th and will be held in the choir room.    If you have interested in sponsoring the event, volunteering or being a part of the choir booster club, you are welcome to visit our website for more information.  Proceeds from the Variety Show are used for end-of-year choir banquet, choir scholarships, music and equipment.

RELAY FOR LIFE!

Relay For Life is Coming to Southlake! In the spirit of Rachel's Challenge, we are proud to announce that this community-wide event will be held May 21, 2010 (times and location to be forthcoming.) Relay For Life is the signature fund-raising activity for the American Cancer Society. At the event, our community will have the opportunity to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and empower individuals to fight back against this disease. Our schools and businesses are encouraged to form "relay" teams to help raise funds that go toward the fight against cancer through research, by raising awareness of cancer treatment and prevention, and by providing support services and resources for cancer patients in our area. Special recognition will go to the schools and businesses with the most teams and donations and to teams with the most creative/original theme. For more information about the event go to www.relayforlife.org . Want to form a team for your neighborhood, business, or church group? Contact Kristie Millican, Team Chairperson, at themillicans@verizon.net. Are you a cancer survivor and want to be an honorary participant in Relay? Contact Paige Buck, Survivorship Celebration Chairperson, at buckp@cisdmail.com .
