FRIENDS OF RACHEL-

Imagine moving to a shelter; you basically have just the cloths on your back and nothing else. Imagine how difficult it would be to start the school year out with no school supplies. The Friends of Rachel from Dawson Middle School are working to help those kids in need by collecting school supplies. If you are out shopping this week, please keep them in mind and pick up something to help them start off the new year right. We have boxes in the atrium to collect those supplies, so bring them to school and drop them in the box. We'll get them to the students who desperately need them!

INJURED MARINE SEMPER FI FUND Semper Fi Fund

The Dragon football team's annual philanthropy project will benefit the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. Throughout September and October the fundraising activities will include a special ceremony honoring America's military at the September 11 home game, sales of charity mums and buttons for the homecoming game, and an autograph session with the Dragon players at Southlake Town Square.  The Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund was established in 2004 and assists Marines, sailors and service members who were injured while assigned to Marine forces and their families during their difficult road to recovery. The fund has provided over 15,000 grants totaling over $31 million in assistance to America's Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom wounded heroes and families.

More information on this important project will be forthcoming.
