Four Assistant Principals Hired

Trustees approved the hiring of four assistant principals during Monday evening's School Board meeting.

Angie George, Carroll Elementary School's new Assistant Principal, replaces Donnie Bartlett who resigned to take a principal position in Grand Prairie. Angie comes from Keller ISD's Shady Grove Elementary where she has been an assistant principal for eight years. She has 14 years of experience in education. Angie earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and her Master of Science in Educational Administration from East Texas State University.

Earlier this year, Trustees voted to add a second assistant principal position at each middle school campus. As a result, Janice Rowlands will be a new addition to Carroll Middle School's staff as an Assistant Principal. She has more than 16 years of experience in education as an eighth grade Science teacher. Janice comes from Hillwood Middle School in Keller ISD where she's taught since 2000. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Hardin Simmons University and her Master of Education from Grand Canyon University.

Earlier this month, Ryan Wilson was named the new principal of Dawson Middle School - replacing Trudie Jackson who announced her retirement this spring. That left two assistant principal vacancies to fill at Dawson.

Matrice Johnson and Shawn Duhon were hired Monday evening as new Assistant Principals for DMS. Matrice has been the Gifted and Talented Coordinator at Dawson since 2006. Prior to coming to Carroll, she taught English Language Arts in Fort Worth ISD for five years. Matrice earned her Bachelor of Arts in English Education from the University of Southern Mississippi and her Master of Education from the University of North Texas.

Shawn comes to Carroll from Arlington ISD's Bowie High School where he has served as an Assistant Principal since 2005. Prior to that, he was the Assistant Principal at Grand Prairie High School 9th Campus for two years and has more than 14 total years of experience in education. Shawn earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Cameron University and his Master of Education from University of Texas at Arlington.
