Carroll Offers Seasonal Flu Shots October 12
Let's fight flu together! For your convenience, CISD and your School Nurses are hosting a community flu clinic at Carroll Senior High in the SAC (Student Activity Center) on Monday, October 12.
Registration is easy, log on to www.flubusters.com ( http://www.flubusters.com/ )and select "Locate a vaccine clinic near you." CISD is listed under schools and found by putting in our 76092 zip code. Click on CISD, schedule and select which service you would like, shot $30 or mist $35 then pay by credit card. Print off your voucher and bring it to the clinic on October 12, it's that easy.
This clinic will vaccinate anyone ages 2 and up. We encourage you and your family to come out and get your seasonal flu shot. We will not have the H1N1 vaccine at this time, currently it is unavailable. We hope to see you and your loved ones at the clinic.
CDC recommends annual influenza vaccines for many members of the community, including:
* Children from six months through 18 years of age
* Parents, teachers and other adults who want to reduce their risk of becoming ill and transmitting influenza to others
* People with certain chronic medical conditions
* Women who are pregnant during influenza season
* All adults aged 50 and above
If you use Internet Explorer on your school computer you may have difficulty viewing the Flubuster's website. Our Technology Department is troubleshooting this issue for us. In the meantime, you can log on at home to sign up for the vaccine!
Effective August, 2000, 3 doses of Hepatitis B vaccine are required for all students entering 6th grade and kindergarten. It takes 4-6 months to complete the series.
Effective August, 2000, Varicella (chicken pox) vaccine will be required for all students entering 6th grade and kindergarten. This is for students who do NOT have a history of the disease.
Students born prior to 9-2-91, must show proof of a second measles vaccine (or a 2nd MMR- measles, mumps, rubella) before entering 6th grade.
