Lady Dragon Soccer Wins District Title

During spring break, the Carroll Lady Dragons completed a goal for the 2017 season.

The Lady Dragons won the District 5-6A championship and defeated Hebron 3-0 in the final district game. The Lady Dragons improved to 17-1-2 on the season and ended district at 11-1-2. It marked the Lady Dragons’ fifth district championship in the last six seasons under coach Matt Colvin.

Against Hebron, the Lady Dragons produced three goal scorers in Carolina Berutti, Ally Griffin and Taylor Tufts. For the season, Griffin leads the team with 22 goals.

Dragons Clinch Playoff Berth

Just before spring break, the Dragons had reason to celebrate. Carroll clinched a playoff berth in District 5-6A with a 3-0 victory against L.D. Bell on March 10 at Dragon Stadium.

Calvin Herd, Michael Kays and Corey Dotson each scored goals for the Dragons. The Dragons improved to 14-3-3 on the season. Carroll concludes the regular season Monday at 7:30 p.m. against Hebron at Dragon Stadium.
