In-Home Training
In-Home Training is based on a collaborative approach between school and home. These services are designed to build a bridge across all environments to facilitate student access in learning.
The primary purpose of In-Home training is to assist students in transferring and generalizing learned skills from the school setting into the home and/or community settings. Goals and objectives for In-Home training are based on each student's Individual Education Program (IEP). Initially, the home trainer will be primarily responsible for the implementation of the generalization activities. As generalization occurs, training should shift from the trainer to the parent to facilitate long term maintenance of the target skill/behaviors. Parents are expected to actively participate in all In-Home training sessions.
