  • Astronomy Club

    Meeting Time/Place: Every Wednesday during lunch in room 401.
    Club Description/Membership: Club will work to increase awareness and interest in astronomy, as well as provide community outreach and education related to astronomy. The club will also work to maintain, operate and expand the observatory.

    Best Buddies

    Club Description/Membership: Best Buddies creates a social group which fosters one-to-one friendships between students with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities.
    When Students Can Join: The online sign-up deadline is Oct. 7th.  After this, unregistered students are welcome to attend, but will not be members in the international online Best Buddies system.

    Business Professionals of America

    Held in Room A112 at CHS the first Wednesday of month @3:30pm, plus other times to prepare for competitions.
    Club Description/Membership:  
    BPA is a Career and Technical Education student organization open to all CSHS and CHS students (9-12) who have goals to develop leadership, academic, and technological skills through competitions at the regional, state, and national levels.

    Deadline to join is November 1st and membership fees/dues ($65) are due October 30th T-Shirt is $15.00

    Carroll Chamber Institute

    Dragon Media Contributers Club

    National Computer Science Honor Society

    This is an honor society to recognize excellence in Computer Science!  Requirements include advanced courses in Computer Science (including robotics), excellent grades and community service.  Community service opportunities include helping host Computer Science and Robotics events, tutoring and more.

    Science National Honor Society

    Software Development Club

    Mondays after school, 3:30 – 4:30 pm, Room 407.
    Club Description/Membership:  
    We focus on web design and Artificial Intelligence.  We will use PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to make a website.  We will also use TensorFlow and PyTorch to create neural networks in Python.  If you choose to do AI, you will be able to compete in online international competitions on Kaggle.  Prior knowledge on coding is not required, but highly recommended.

    Spanish National Honor Society

    Club Description/Membership:  
    This is an honor society that recognizes the accomplishments of the upper level Spanish students and provides fun and philanthropic activities to enhance their learning experience and appreciation for the culture.  To be initiated, a Spanish student must be taking Spanish 3 PAP, or AP and must have an average of 90 or better for the preceding three semesters of Spanish.

    General Assemblies will occur at least once a month and dates will be announced. Meetings will be held in Room 217.
    Club Description/Membership: 
    StuCo is a student-led organization working for the benefit and enjoyment of the entire student body. They organize events like Homecoming, Howdy Week, Spring Fling, Red Ribbon Week, Teacher Appreciation, Mardi Gras, and many more. StuCo is open to any 9th-12th student.

    Thespian Troope #5404

    Meeting Time/Place:  
    Called on an as-needed basis by our student-elected Thespian Board.
    Club Description/Membership:  
    The International Thespian Society honors student achievement in Theatre and enriches their educational experience/Students are inducted annually in May after accruing 10 points of merit work in Carroll Theatre Department. 
    When Students Can Join: 
    Awards Banquet is in May of each year; and dues are turned in at the beginning of the school year after students have been inducted in May of the previous year.
