    Club Description/Membership: Club will work to increase awareness and interest in astronomy, as well as provide community outreach and education related to astronomy. The club will also work to maintain, operate and expand the observatory.

    Carroll Model UN Club

    Meeting Time/Place: Every A Day Wednesday during lunch in Coach Gilley's room.
    Club Description/Membership: Our Model UN Club seeks to expose its members to international politics and relations through practice debates and forums we will attend throughout the year.  At our first meeting club members will choose a country in the General Assembly to represent and will regularly be expected to take accurate positions on discussed issues.  Officer positions outside of the General Secretary and Deputy General Secretary will be elected by club members with respect to the club's size.  Members will gain valuable leadership skills through practice forums.  At the end of the year club members will display their accumulated skills in a large formal debate hosted by our club.
    When Students Can Join: The first meeting on Wednesday, November 20th, during lunch.

    Circle of Friends

    Meeting Time/Place: Room 219 at CSHS.
    Club Description/Membership: Best Buddies creates a social group which fosters one-to-one friendships between students with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities.
    When Students Can Join: The online sign-up deadline is Oct. 7th.  After this, unregistered students are welcome to attend, but will not be members in the international online Best Buddies system.

    Business Professionals of America

    Meeting Time/Place:  
    Held in Room A112 at CHS the first Wednesday of month @3:30pm, plus other times to prepare for competitions.  Meets with DECA.
    Club Description/Membership:  
    BPA is a Career and Technical Education student organization open to all CSHS and CHS students (9-12) who have goals to develop leadership, academic, and technological skills through competitions at the regional, state, and national levels.

    Deadline to join is November 1st and membership fees/dues ($68) are due October 30th T-Shirt is $15.00

    Carroll Chamber Institute

    Club Description/Membership:  
    We are medium-sized ensemble focusing on orchestral music and instruments.  Anyone who can play an instrument and is passionate about music is welcome.

    Carroll Medical Academy Student Council

    Club Description/Membership:    Students complete the grades 9-12 curriculum which includes medical internship opportunities.  Successful completion will earn students an honor cord at graduation.
    When Students Can Join:  CMS is a program students apply for in January of their 8th grade year.  Selections are made at the district office to fill openings for the upcomoing freshman class.

    Carroll Women in Technology (WIT)

    Computer Science Club

    Aimed at students who are learning (or want to learn) problem solving and programming in java. Opportunities to travel and compete in team competitions! Everyone is welcome. Java knowledge/experience is helpful.

    Dragon Media Contributers Club

    Students in grades 9-12 may join this club for students who are interested in photography, design, writing, reporting, illustrating, filmmaking, editing and creating for KDGN broadcast, The Dragon Yearbook and DragonMedia.org.

    National Art Honor Society

    National Computer Science Honor Society

    Club Description/Membership:  
    This is an honor society to recognize excellence in Computer Science!  Requirements include advanced courses in Computer Science (including robotics), excellent grades and community service.  Community service opportunities include helping host Computer Science and Robotics events, tutoring and more.

    Outdoor Club

    Science National Honor Society

    Third Wednesday of month during lunch in room 405.
    Club Description/Membership:  
    Junior or Senior in an AP Science class with a GPA of 92 and a science GPS of 88.

    Software Development Club

    Meeting Time/Place:  
    Mondays after school, 3:30 – 4:30 pm, Room 407.
    Club Description/Membership:  
    We focus on web design and Artificial Intelligence.  We will use PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to make a website.  We will also use TensorFlow and PyTorch to create neural networks in Python.  If you choose to do AI, you will be able to compete in online international competitions on Kaggle.  Prior knowledge on coding is not required, but highly recommended.

    Spanish National Honor Society

    First Wednesday of each month @7:30am and during lunch.
    Club Description/Membership:  
    This is an honor society that recognizes the accomplishments of the upper level Spanish students and provides fun and philanthropic activities to enhance their learning experience and appreciation for the culture.  To be initiated, a Spanish student must be in 3PAP and must take AP Spanish 4 Language.

    Club Description/Membership: 
    StuCo is a student-led organization working for the benefit and enjoyment of the entire student body. They organize events like Homecoming, Howdy Week, Spring Fling, Red Ribbon Week, Teacher Appreciation, Mardi Gras, and many more. StuCo is open to any 9th-12th student.

    Thespian Troope #5404

    Called on an as-needed basis by our student-elected Thespian Board.
    Club Description/Membership:  
    The International Thespian Society honors student achievement in Theatre and enriches their educational experience/Students are inducted annually in May after accruing 10 points of merit work in Carroll Theatre Department. 
    When Students Can Join: 
    Awards Banquet is in May of each year; and dues are turned in at the beginning of the school year after students have been inducted in May of the previous year.
