Board President Letter

  • August 14, 2020

    Dear Dragon Families:

Earlier today, Dr. David J. Faltys announced his retirement as superintendent of Carroll ISD effective December 31, 2020*. On behalf of the Carroll ISD Board of Trustees, I want to thank him for his tireless commitment and service to our students, staff, parents and community for the past 15 years. He leaves an extraordinary legacy based on his love for our kids, outstanding leadership and strategic vision for our District that has impacted tens of thousands of Dragon students and their families.

Originally, Dr. Faltys had planned to retire at the end of the 2019-2020 school year. However, he delayed his announcement to help Carroll ISD and our community navigate this very challenging time and help us start a new school year. There was never going to be a good time to make this announcement, but now your School Board can spend the fall working to select the next leader of Carroll ISD.

Currently, we are establishing a process for hiring the next superintendent and are committed to approach this task in a thoughtful and transparent manner which includes meaningful community engagement and timely communication. We are grateful that Dr. Faltys has agreed to remain in his leadership role through the transition and hiring of the next Superintendent.

Please join me in thanking Dr. Faltys for his many years of service. He will be missed!!

    Sincerely,

    Michelle F. Moore
    Carroll ISD School Board President
