Holiday Break COVID Protocols

  • Thanksgiving Break: Carroll ISD’s COVID-19 Protocols
Carroll ISD will be closed Monday, November 23 through Friday, November 27 for Thanksgiving Break. During this week, Carroll ISD will not be collecting, tracing or reporting student and staff COVID cases. Our school nurses and staff need the break physically and mentally to rest and spend time with their families. Tarrant County Public Health has agreed they will handle contact tracing during school closures.

    Positive COVID-19 Case Reporting
During the break, as well as the weekends before and after, all staff and students who test positive for COVID-19 will need to report it to the Tarrant County Public Health at 817-248-6299. Tarrant County Public Health will be handling all contact tracing directly with families during the school holiday.

If you test positive for COVID-19 during the Thanksgiving break, please do not return to school on Monday, November 30, but rather notify your campus principal and school nurse in writing of your positive case. A CISD nurse or staff member will be in contact with you for further information and direction when school reopens.

    Holiday Travel
Carroll ISD follows the travel recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). To learn more about travel requirements following your Thanksgiving break trip, visit:

Health Screening & Case/Symptom Notifications In Writing November 29
On Sunday, November 29, all parents and staff will receive a health screening questionnaire via email to verify you (employee) and/or your child is symptom free and has not tested positive for COVID-19 or been exposed to a positive COVID-19 case over break. In addition to the health screening questionnaire, Carroll ISD is asking for all student or staff lab-positive COVID cases to be emailed directly to your campus principal and school nurse on Sunday, November 29.

Carroll ISD will be recording any staff and student cases from over the break on the COVID-19 dashboard when schools reopen on Monday, November 30.

If you have COVID-19 symptoms on Sunday, November 29, and will not be coming to school on Monday, November 30, please also email your campus principal and school nurse.

    Extracurricular Participation During Break
There are a number of extracurricular activities that are scheduled during the Thanksgiving break. For students who participate in extracurricular activities, please notify your coach or director and stay at home if you have COVID-19 symptoms or have tested positive. These cases will be updated in the dashboard when CISD reopens. You must also contact Tarrant County Health Department and report your case.
