Q: With a low or zero balance, can my student charge food to their account?
A: Yes. The student may charge the account for a plate lunch only. No a la carte items may be charged to an account with a low or negative balance.
Q: How much money can my student charge to the account?
A: The student account may be charged two times for a plate lunch meal. Example: two elementary plate lunches is allowed to be charged to the account totaling -$8.30.
Q: What communication does Child Nutrition give parents when the account goes negative?
A: The point of sale software generates a negative balance email that will be sent daily to the parent email on file. This email notification will continue to be sent out each day as long as the account is negative.
Q: What happens after two plate lunches are charged to the account and the account is still negative?
A: The Child Nutrition office will call the household to notify of the negative balance.
Q: How do I make a payment into the account?
A: Online payments can be made here: Myschoolbucks.com. (Please note: We do not use the Kids Debit Card/Greenlight feature at CISD. Please do not sign up for that) You can also bring cash or check to the lunch line or the school front office.
Q: Can I pay cash and get change back?
A: All money is deposited in the student’s account to make purchases. No change is given at the site. If you would like an account refund or transfer: Refund/Transfer
Q: Can I donate my remaining balance to Carroll ISD if we move away?

Q: What if my household has financial hardship?
