Q: With a low or zero balance, can my student charge food to their account?
A: Yes. The student may charge the account for a plate lunch only. No a la carte items may be charged to an account with a low or negative balance. Highschool students can charge a dragon bowl or a bento box only.

A: A student may charge up to two plate lunches to their meal account when sufficient funds are not available.

Q: What communication does Child Nutrition give parents when the account goes negative?
A: An automatic email notification is sent to the student's parent email on file with a balance of $6.00 or less every Friday. To avoid receiving future reminders, please maintain an account balance above $6.00 by adding funds before the weekly notification is sent.
