Substance Abuse / Prevention
Carroll ISD is dedicated to providing substance abuse awareness to students at all grade levels through guidance lessons, school assemblies and through classroom curriculum. For a list of local support resources, please contact your campus counselor.
In compliance with House Bill 3908 and Texas Education Code §38.040, and with guidance from the School Health Advisory Council (SHAC), Carroll ISD is partnering with Recovery Resource Council to provide fentanyl prevention and drug poisoning awareness education. Recovery Resource Council is a local Prevention Resource Center funded by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. Recovery Resource Council will be facilitating an opt-in presentation titled "Alcohol, Tobacco & Other Drugs" for students in grades 6–12. This presentation is designed to help students understand the risks associated with alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs and to provide them with strategies for making healthy, informed decisions.
