Carroll ISD Introduces AACE Credit

Carroll ISD is excited to introduce Advanced Academic Credit for Extracurricular Participation, or AACE Credit, beginning in Fall 2027.

We know that our students’ commitment to excellence extends far beyond the classroom. Students dedicate countless hours to athletics, fine arts, academic competitions, and other extracurricular programs while developing leadership, discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and time management.

Beginning in Fall 2027, that commitment can become part of a student’s weighted GPA.

How AACE Credit Works

Students who successfully complete two consecutive full academic years in the same qualifying extracurricular organization may become eligible for provisional AACE Credit.

Once eligible, 10 points will be added to the final grade of each qualifying semester for purposes of calculating weighted GPA and class rank.

When Will This Affect a Student’s GPA?

Because students must complete two consecutive years of qualifying participation before receiving provisional credit, the first students eligible to have AACE Credit applied to their GPA will be members of the Class of 2029.

Fall 2028
Students begin qualifying participation.

Spring 2029
The first eligible students complete two consecutive years and may receive provisional AACE Credit.

Class of 2029
The first graduating class eligible to receive the GPA benefit with minimum 2-year commitment.

Class of 2030
The second graduating class eligible to receive the GPA benefit with minimum 3-year commitment.

Class of 2031 and beyond
These graduating classes are eligible to receive the GPA benefit with 4-year commitment.
