College Partnerships

Below are highlights of the simplified admission process with some of the institutions. Others are being finalized and will be added as they are approved and made available to CISD students.
Students are encouraged to meet with CSHS counselors to obtain more specific details on each partnership opportunity.
Texas Tech University
Automatic Admission – Texas Tech University (TTU) will offer assured admission to CISD graduates who meet specific class rank and test score criteria, on a sliding scale.
Standardized Test Waiver - TTU will waive SAT/ACT submission requirements for admission consideration (though scholarships may still require scores) and waive application fees for students who meet TTU’s fee waiver criteria.
Additional Support – TTU will provide CISD students with workshops on applications, FAFSA, and other agreed-upon resources, and notify counselors about scholarship opportunities.
Tarleton State University
Automatic Admission – Graduating seniors from Carroll ISD in the top 50% of their class will now have automatic acceptance into Tarleton State University.
Application Fee Waiver – Through Tarleton's Distinguished High School Partnership Program, seniors from Carroll ISD will have the admissions application fee waived if they meet Tarleton’s acceptance criteria and will not have to submit required ACT (American College Test) and SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) scores.
Scholarship Guarantee – Carroll ISD seniors who are eligible for the Tarleton President’s Guaranteed Scholarship Program (GSP) will receive a scholarship award guarantee. Because CISD is now a Distinguished High School Partner, students are eligible for a larger scholarship award level ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 depending on class rank and test scores. The scholarship money will be given annually for four years.
Additional Support – Through the agreement, Tarleton will also provide continuous support for CISD students such as financial aid, admissions and degree counseling, work study mentorships and peer mentoring.
Howard Payne University
Automatic Admission – Howard Payne University (HPU) will admit all CISD graduates with an unweighted GPA above 3.5, without requiring SAT/ACT scores (though scholarships may still require them).
Application Fee Waiver – All CISD students can apply to HPU for free.
Scholarship Guarantee – Qualifying graduates receive the Gold and Blue Partnership Scholarship valued at $60,000 over four years ($7,500 per semester), with eligibility for higher merit scholarships based on academics.
Additional Support – HPU will provide ongoing services such as financial aid and admissions counseling, degree planning, work-study mentorships, and peer mentoring.
Associate Degree Option – Qualifying CISD graduates who also complete an AA, AS, or AAS degree while in high school can enroll in approved HPU degree programs at the New Braunfels or El Paso campuses.
McMurry University
Automatic Admission – McMurry University (MU) will admit all CISD graduates with an unweighted GPA above 3.5, without requiring SAT/ACT scores (though scholarships may still require them).
