• Substitutes are paid a month behind

• Substitutes are usually paid the 22nd of each month

Taxes
Substitutes contribute to:

• Medicare, as required by law. Deductions are automatically taken from wages.

• FICA Alternative, substitutes will pay a pre-tax contribution each pay period

• FICA Alternative does not apply to TRS retirees
