Teacher Incentive Allotment
The Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA), established by the 86th Texas Legislature through House Bill 3 (HB 3) in June 2019, aims to recruit, support, and retain highly effective teachers in Texas schools. The program provides a pathway for financially recognizing top teachers by designating them as Recognized, Exemplary, or Master. Prior to issuing designations, districts must undergo a rigorous multi-year application and approval process to ensure compliance, validity, and reliability. In partnership with Texas Tech University (TTU), the Texas Education Agency (TEA) annually monitors the quality and fairness of local designation systems.
Exploring participation in the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) aligns with Carroll ISD’s ongoing efforts to support teacher excellence, retain highly effective educators, and recruit top-tier talent into our schools. Evaluating this opportunity allows the district to assess how TIA could help remain competitive with other districts in attracting and recognizing exceptional teachers.
