What security measures are in place?
The center will have secure entry access, sign-in/out procedures, and trained staff to ensure a safe environment.
What are the health policies?
Dragon U follows strict health and hygiene protocols, including regular sanitization and handwashing routines. Sick children must be symptom-free for 24 hours without medication before returning.
Will a school nurse be available at Dragon U?
No, there will not be a nurse available for the students in Dragon U.
Are staff trained in CPR and First Aid?
Yes, all childcare workers will receive CPR, First Aid, and emergency response training as required by Texas HHS.
What happens in case of an emergency?
The center has an emergency preparedness plan, and parents will be notified immediately if their child needs urgent medical attention.
How will the staff be screened?
Dragon U employees are CISD employees and must pass a criminal background check, reference checks, and DFPS registry check as part of the interview process. All caregivers (including subs) are required to have 2 background checks. One background check is through HR, and the other is through Daycare Licensing. Not only are they checked for normal FBI background investigations, but they will also have a criminal background check and child abuse neglect check.
What training will the staff be provided?
All training is aligned with the Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) childcare licensing standards. According to the Minimum Standards for Child-Care Centers, caregivers are required to complete the following areas annually:
● Infant/Child CPR and AED
● First Aid
● Procedures for handling emergencies
● Child abuse prevention and reporting on an annual basis
