When is registration?
Registration for Pre-K 2024-2025 School Year will be first-come, first-served after Texas Eligible students and employee children are placed.         Applications to register will open 9:00am on March 18, 2024 and will be time/date stamped. Pre-K tuition spots fill up quickly. This is a quick google form application. Once you have been notified (Mid-April) that your child received a spot, you will be sent the formal enrollment process with list of documents needed and required fees.

What days/times does the Prekindergarten Program operate?
The Prekindergarten Program follows the Carroll ISD district calendar and observes all student holidays. The program runs from 7:30 a.m.- 2:50 p.m.  five days per week.  

Does the program offer part-time enrollment?
Prekindergarten students, once enrolled, are required to attend the program in the same manner that K-12 students are expected.  Attendance is taken daily, and tardies are monitored.  TEA Attendance Accounting Handbook states, Prekindergarten and Kindergarten students are subject to compulsory school attendance while they are enrolled in school. Texas Education Code - EDUC § 25.085. Where is the Prekindergarten Program offered?
The Prekindergarten Program is currently offered at Carroll Elementary School, Rockenbaugh Elementary School, and Old Union Elementary. Each of these campuses have three and four-year-old classes.  The specific number of classes each year is dependent on district needs.

What is the cost of the  Prekindergarten Program?
For students who do not meet the free Prekindergarten Texas eligibility criteria, Carroll offers tuition spots in the prekindergarten program. The yearly tuition rate for the Prekindergarten Program is set every year by the Texas Education Agency.  Payment can be made in full, or through monthly installments. Carroll ISD Prekindergarten Tuition Information 

Does the district offer transportation for students in the Prekindergarten Program?
No, the  Prekindergarten Program does not have transportation provided through Carroll ISD. Parents are responsible for drop-off and pick-up of students in the program.

Does the district offer after-school care for Prekindergarten students?
Carroll ISD does not offer after-school care. There are many local daycares/after school programs that pick up from the Prekindergarten program if after-care is needed.

Does my child need to be toilet trained to attend? 
Tuition students must be toilet-trained prior to entering into the Blended Prekindergarten program. Parents accepting a spot in a tuition-based spot must sign the personal hygiene form 

Do prekindergarten students nap/quiet time?
Yes. Three-year-old students will have a rest time of 55 minutes. Four-year-old students will have a rest time of 45 minutes.  Students are not required to nap during this time, but are encouraged to rest quietly.

Do prekindergarten students attend Encore?
Prekindergarten students at all campuses will attend Encore (music, art, PE).  We have a prekindergarten encore teacher that serves all three campuses (CES, OUES and RES).  Carroll ISD does not offer any additional classes such as Spanish, Soccer, Gymnastics, etc. that maybe offered at your local private preschool/daycare.

If I think my child may qualify for state-funded Prekindergarten, who should I contact?

What does the prekindergarten schedule look like?

What if I want to withdraw my child before school starts or during the school year? 
Parents/Guardians must complete the Prekindergarten Withdrawal Form HERE. Parents who have accepted a Tuition-Based spot, must fill out the withdrawal form 30 days prior to the first day of school, or 30 days prior to the next scheduled tuition payment.  (see tuition schedule)
