CPR Kits Donated to Carroll ISD to Teach Life-Saving Skills
The American Heart Association has donated several CPR kits to Carroll ISD.
Specifically, the AHA's Tarrant County Community Impact team, in collaboration with Academy 4, donated the kits and resources to area schools to support cardiac emergency response plans.
The Anywhere CPR kit for the Hands-Only CPR (cardio pulmonary resuscitation) training initiative aims to equip students and staff with the skills and tools to respond to cardiac emergencies, enhancing school safety and emergency preparedness. These teaching kits include full-size mannequins and will give Carroll schools the ability to demonstrate proper CPR when the students are participating in the Kid’s Heart Challenge (K – 4th) and the American Heart Challenge (5th - 12th).
The kits support legislation passed in 2013 requiring students practice Hands-Only CPR training prior to graduation. This initiative exposes students to the lifesaving technique even earlier. Children as young as nine can successfully perform Hands-Only CPR in the case of an emergency.
“It's important that every school district has the resources they need to deliver high-quality training to their students," said Alec Puente, government relations director at the American Heart Association, "so they are ready to step in and save a life."
The donation included 5 small CPR kits for each Carroll elementary school and one full size CPR kit to serve 5th through 12th grades.
