Austin Robinson Named Assistant Principal of Carroll Middle School

Carroll ISD is pleased to announce the promotion of Mr. Austin Robinson to Assistant Principal of Carroll Middle School. A passionate educator and dynamic campus leader, Mr. Robinson brings five years of dedicated service, deep instructional expertise, and a strong commitment to student success into his new administrative role.

Mr. Robinson currently serves as a seventh and eighth-grade social studies teacher at George Dawson Middle School, where he has spent his entire teaching career. Over the past five years, he has emerged as a respected leader and mentor on campus and across the district. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to education, he was recently named the 2025 Teacher of the Year for Dawson Middle School.

A graduate of the University of North Texas with a degree in 4–8 Interdisciplinary Studies, Mr. Robinson will earn his graduate degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington this summer.

Beyond the classroom, Mr. Robinson has served as the Social Studies Department Lead at Dawson for the past three years and has mentored more than six new teachers, helping shape the next generation of CISD educators. At the district level, he has played an active role as an Instructional Lead Learner for three years, collaborating with colleagues to elevate teaching practices and improve student outcomes.

Mr. Robinson is known for his deep passion for learning and his ability to foster meaningful relationships with both students and staff. “My greatest responsibility as an educator is to inspire a love for learning,” he shared. “I’m honored to take on this new role and excited to support the students, staff, and families of Carroll Middle School as we continue to build a positive, high-achieving learning environment.”

Principal Nikki Leonard shared that during his time at Dawson Middle School, Mr. Robinson consistently prioritized building strong relationships with students both inside and outside the classroom. “He always took the initiative to check in with new teachers and staff, too” she said,  “ensuring they felt supported and confident in their roles.His presence will be deeply missed at Dawson, but I have no doubt he will provide the same positive presence at CMS.” 

Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Glenn praised the appointment, stating, “Mr. Robinson is an exceptional educator whose leadership is grounded in service, mentorship, and a genuine passion for student growth. His experience and dedication make him an outstanding addition to the Carroll Middle School leadership team.”
