Carroll BPA Students Soar at State, Advance to Nationals in Orlando

Carroll ISD’s Business Professionals of America (BPA) students showcased their talent and determination at the 2025 Texas State Leadership Conference (SLC) in Dallas, earning multiple National Qualifier (NQ) spots and impressive state placements. The competition, which brought together top students from across Texas, spanned three days of rigorous business, technology, and leadership events.

Carroll’s high school and middle school BPA students demonstrated excellence in events ranging from Broadcast News Production and Java Programming to Health Insurance & Medical Billing. In total, 36 middle school students from Carroll Middle School (CMS) and Dawson Middle School (DMS), along with several high school competitors, secured their place at the National Leadership Conference (NLC) in Orlando, Florida, this April.

Notable National Qualifiers include:

  • Broadcast News Production Team – John Schad, Eric Revell, Michael Tran, Carlos Galindo (1st)
  • Presentation Team – Jay Tamirisa, Rehaan Chamakura, Shreyas Dharani, Mia Jose (1st)
  • Extemporaneous Speech – Zoha Askari (2nd)
  • Personal Financial Management – Aditi Nagunoori (3rd)
  • Health Insurance & Medical Billing – Parin Chanana (3rd), Arhan Vontela (7th)
  • Fundamentals of Web Design – Pranavi Basani (7th)
  • Java Programming – Aanya Mishra (8th)
  • Banking & Finance – Weiyiyi Wei (8th)
  • Device Configuration & Troubleshooting – Ayaan Magoo (8th)

Carroll BPA also had several state finalists who showcased their expertise, narrowly missing the cut for Nationals but proving their strength in Graphic Design Promotion, Computer Modeling, Health Research Presentation, and Website Design.

Kim Goodman, Carroll ISD's Career & Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator, praised the students’ accomplishments:
"Our BPA students continue to demonstrate an incredible work ethic, professionalism, and drive for excellence. Seeing so many Dragons qualify for Nationals is a testament to their dedication and the support of our outstanding teachers and mentors. We couldn’t be prouder of their success!"

With the National Leadership Conference set for April 30 – May 4 in Orlando, Carroll’s BPA students will now prepare to compete on the national stage, representing the best in business, technology, and leadership.
