Carroll Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Riley Dodge Earns 100th Career Win

Coach Riley Dodge reached a milestone Thursday night when the game against V.R. Eaton ended at Northwest ISD Stadium.

The victory marked his 100th career win - a testament to Dodge’s leadership, consistency, and dedication to the Carroll tradition of excellence.

"It's one more win for an exceptional program and an amazing team. I just get to be the one leading the charge," said Dodge. He emphasized that he feels blessed and that the achievement would not have been possible without the unwavering commitment of his coaching staff and the talent, heart, and hard work of his players over the years. Dodge also expressed deep gratitude for his wife, Alexis, and their children, Tate, Landry, Blakely, and Charlotte, for their constant love and support throughout his coaching journey.

Since taking the helm in 2018, Dodge has guided the Dragons through deep playoff runs, national rankings, and unforgettable appearances in the Class 6A Division I State Championship in 2020 and the Class 6A Division II State Championship game in 2024.

With this latest victory, Dodge becomes the second-fastest head coach in Texas high school football history to reach 100 wins. He achieved the milestone in eight years and seven weeks, second only to Katy head coach Gary Joseph, who reached his 100th win in eight years and five weeks.

Those expectations come with a legacy. Carroll’s storied program - which has claimed eight state and three national titles - sets a high standard that Coach Dodge fully embraces. He continues to build on that foundation, not just through wins, but by cultivating a strong, player-focused culture. Amid the intensity of Friday nights and the pressure that comes with leading one of the most recognized programs in Texas, Dodge remains grounded in what matters most: his players.

“A lot of times, head coaches lose sight of why we do this,” said Assistant Coach Skyler Wetzel. “But Coach Dodge still takes time to connect with the kids, relate to them, and pour into them. He connects so well with them because he played football at Carroll; these players grew up idolizing him.”

With his 100th win, Dodge joins an elite list of coaches who have etched their names into Texas high school football history. The Dragons entered this season ranked No. 1 in Class 6A by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football and remain atop most statewide rankings.
