Carroll ISD Celebrates Excellence at End-of-Year Awards Ceremony

The spirit of Dragon pride was on full display Tuesday evening as Carroll ISD hosted its annual End-of-Year Awards Ceremony in the Performance Hall at Carroll Senior High School. The event honored the outstanding educators and staff members who go above and beyond each day to serve students and uphold the district’s tradition of excellence.

Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Glenn served as host for the evening, emphasizing the purpose behind the celebration—to recognize those who consistently inspire excellence across Carroll ISD. From the classroom to the cafeteria to the squad car, each honoree represents the commitment, passion, and high standards that define Dragon Nation.

“These individuals exemplify what it means to Protect the Tradition,” Dr. Glenn shared. “Their dedication and tireless efforts ensure that Carroll ISD continues to provide an exceptional experience for every student, every day.”

The ceremony recognized outstanding staff members from a wide range of departments across the district:

  • Transportation Employee / Bus Driver of the Year – Martin Koning
  • Childcare Employee of the Year – Yahaira Rodriguez
  • Auxiliary Team Member of the Year – Flavia Araujo
  • Paraprofessional / Instructional Assistant of the Year – Tichina Coleman
  • Paraprofessional / Clerical Assistant of the Year – Jolie Allen
  • School Resource Officer of the Year – Jason Keller
  • Athletics Employee of the Year – Coach Leslie Jackson
  • Dragon of the Year – Brooke Hughes

The evening also celebrated the campus Teachers of the Year, who were nominated and selected by their peers through a rigorous evaluation process:

  • Carroll Elementary – Luann Moffett
  • Johnson Elementary – Meredith Schneider
  • Old Union Elementary – Stephanie Burke
  • Rockenbaugh Elementary – Stephanie Craddock
  • Walnut Grove Elementary – Rachel Hinzman
  • Durham Intermediate – Jennifer Lee
  • Eubanks Intermediate – Taylor Houtman
  • Carroll Middle – Becky Rosendahl
  • Dawson Middle – Christin Kelber
  • Carroll High School – Lauren Hein
  • Carroll Senior High School – Erin Burkamp

Each Teacher of the Year received a $1,000 award from the Carroll Education Foundation along with a special Dragon swag package in recognition of their achievement.

The celebration culminated with the announcement of the 2025-26 District Teachers of the Year. Representing the elementary level, Luann Moffett of Carroll Elementary was selected, while Erin Burkamp of Carroll Senior High School earned the distinction at the secondary level.

In addition to the campus awards, both district winners received an extra $5,000 from the Carroll Education Foundation and the opportunity to drive a luxury SUV for the summer, courtesy of Park Place Land Rover. 

The End-of-Year Awards Ceremony serves as a powerful reminder that the success of Carroll ISD is built on the strength of its people. Through their unwavering commitment to students and each other, these educators and staff members continue to set the standard for excellence and ensure that the Dragon legacy remains strong.
