Carroll ISD Once Again Earns ‘A’ Rating from Texas Education Agency

All 11 Carroll ISD campuses earn an “A” in 2026 state accountability ratings

SOUTHLAKE, Texas — Carroll ISD has once again earned an overall “A” rating from the Texas Education Agency (TEA), continuing a longstanding tradition of academic excellence across the District.

TEA released its 2026 A-F Accountability Ratings on Aug. 14, with Carroll ISD earning an overall score of 93 out of 100. Even more notably, all 11 Carroll ISD campuses earned individual “A” ratings.

The 2026 results also mark the seventh consecutive “A” rating for Carroll ISD in every year TEA has issued A-F accountability ratings, dating back to the implementation of the system in 2018. TEA did not issue accountability ratings in 2020 or 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“That CISD has achieved an ‘A’ rating once again is a testament to our Dragon students, teachers and community,” Board President Cam Bryan said. “Excellence is not something that happens by chance. It is the result of high expectations, hard work, and a community that continues to invest in our students and schools. These results give us another reason to be Dragon Proud.”

How TEA Determines Accountability Ratings

The Texas A-F accountability system evaluates districts and campuses across three primary domains: Student Achievement, School Progress, and Closing the Gaps.

Student Achievement measures what students know and are able to do. Depending on the grade levels served, TEA considers factors including:

• Student performance on standardized assessments;
• Graduation rates; and
• College, Career and Military Readiness, including measures such as college-readiness standards, dual credit, Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate performance, industry-based certifications and other postsecondary readiness indicators.

School Progress considers how much students have grown academically from year to year and also evaluates a district or campus's performance relative to other schools serving similar populations.

While the districtwide rating represents the collective performance of Carroll ISD, the fact that each of the district's 11 campuses earned an “A” highlights the strength of leadership and instruction taking place at every level.

“Each campus achieving an ‘A’ rating is a reflection of our principals stewarding their campuses well and our teachers' commitment to their students each day,” Board Vice President Andrew Yeager said. “From an emphasis on well-researched curriculum and effective teaching methods to our commitment to a well-rounded education, our campuses remain focused on preparing students not simply to perform well on an assessment, but to achieve at the highest levels throughout their education and beyond.”

Carroll ISD recognizes that the state's accountability system is just one measure of student and district success. The District remains committed to providing students with a comprehensive educational experience that includes rigorous academics alongside opportunities in athletics, fine arts, career and technical education, extracurricular activities, leadership and service.

The latest ratings add to a year of accomplishments across Carroll ISD and reflect the district's 2026-27 theme, Dragon Proud: Honoring Our Past, Inspiring Our Future.
