Carroll Senior High Celebrates 32 National Merit Semifinalists

Carroll Senior High School is proud to announce that 32 students have been named semifinalists in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program. These outstanding seniors represent the top one percent of high school students nationwide who entered the competition by taking the PSAT/NMSQT in their junior year.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced the names of more than 16,000 semifinalists across the country on September 10, 2025. These academically talented students now have the opportunity to continue in the competition for nearly $26 million in scholarships that will be awarded in the spring of 2026.

Semifinalists will now move forward in the process, which includes submitting a detailed scholarship application, maintaining strong academic performance, and achieving SAT or ACT scores that confirm their earlier PSAT results. About 95 percent of semifinalists are expected to become finalists, with roughly half of those earning the prestigious title of National Merit Scholar.

“Being named a National Merit Semifinalist is a reflection of years of dedication, perseverance, and academic excellence,” said Dr. Jeremy Glenn, Carroll ISD Superintendent. “We are incredibly proud of these Dragons for representing Carroll Senior High and the Southlake community on the national stage. Carroll ISD once again has demonstrated why we remain a destination district.”
