Five Dragon Seniors Earn Appointments to U.S. Military Academies

Carroll ISD has long been known for developing leaders of character and excellence, and this year, five remarkable Carroll Senior High School seniors have been appointed to some of the nation’s most respected United States Military Academies.

Fewer than one percent of all U.S. high school graduates are admitted to these elite institutions annually, making this achievement extraordinarily rare and a tremendous point of pride for Dragon Nation.

Three Carroll Dragons — Jackson Campbell, Lucas Schug and Manu Challa — have been admitted to the United States Military Academy at West Point in New York. Chloe Franks received an appointment to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, while Anant Sinha earned admission to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

These appointments require far more than academic achievement. Admission to any of these academies follows an extensive and highly competitive application process that evaluates leadership, character, physical fitness, and a demonstrated commitment to serving the nation, in addition to academics.

Upon acceptance, cadets and midshipmen commit to four years of rigorous military and academic training. Following graduation, each student will serve as a commissioned officer for a minimum of five years of active-duty military service, followed by additional service in the reserves.

The five seniors were formally recognized Wednesday evening during the Carroll Senior High School Senior Scholarship Awards Ceremony, where dozens of Dragons were celebrated for earning scholarships and academic honors.

The evening also highlighted the incredible generosity and support of community organizations and scholarship sponsors who continue to invest in Carroll students and their futures. These scholarship donors included alumni groups from Carroll ISD elementary campuses, the Southlake Kiwanis Club, Southlake Women’s Club, EECU, Mark Jameson Insurance, and the Carroll Senior High Chapter of the National Honor Society.

Carroll ISD salutes all of these outstanding seniors on their extraordinary accomplishments and thanks all community partners and scholarship supporters who continue to help Dragons pursue excellence at the highest levels.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026 and to all of our amazing Carroll Dragons as they begin the next chapter of their journeys.
