Principal Profile: Stephanie Martin's Summer of Travel, Family, and Poolside Relaxation
As the new principal at Carroll Middle School, Stephanie Martin is preparing to lead with heart, experience, and a deep commitment to student success. Before the school bells ring this fall, she’s soaking up a well-deserved summer filled with travel, family time, and a few suspenseful page-turners.
Ms. Martin and her husband Richard will kick off the season with a tropical getaway to the Dominican Republic—one of their favorite ways to unwind and recharge. "We try to go to the beach every year to relax and de-stress," she says. “It’s always good for the soul.”
Back at home, summer means time by the pool and barbecues with family. Stephanie and Richard will be joined by their youngest son, Parker, who’s spending part of his summer at sports and conditioning camps—but also making time for some laid-back pool days with Mom. Their grown children, Alaina and Duston, are planning to visit, turning afternoons into family cookouts and memory-making.
One special goodbye this summer was to the family’s exchange student, who recently returned home to Spain. “Having him here this year was a wonderful experience,” she reflects. “He became part of the family.”
Between all the summer fun, Ms. Martin also carves out quiet moments for herself—usually found poolside with a suspense novel in hand. Later this summer, she and Parker will head to Tyler, Texas, to visit his Nana, continuing a cherished family tradition.
Whether she’s at the beach, pool, or simply enjoying the company of loved ones, Stephanie Martin is making the most of the summer months before returning to campus ready to lead the Dragons of Carroll Middle School.
