Stefan Benedetti Named Director of Middle School Choirs for Carroll ISD

Carroll ISD is proud to announce the promotion of Mr. Stefan Benedetti to Director of Middle School Choirs for Carroll Middle School and Dawson Middle School. A proud Dragon alumnus and accomplished educator, Mr. Benedetti brings a passion for music, deep ties to the Southlake community, and a proven track record of instructional excellence to his new role.

A 2011 graduate of Carroll Senior High School, Mr. Benedetti went on to earn a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies Performance from the University of North Texas (UNT) in 2016. He began his teaching career in 2020 at Walnut Grove Elementary School (WGES), where he quickly emerged as a dynamic and respected leader in the classroom and across the district.

While at WGES, Mr. Benedetti served as both the K–6 District Lead for Music and Department Lead for the Encore Team. In recognition of his exceptional teaching and leadership, he was named Carroll ISD’s Elementary District Teacher of the Year in 2023 and was selected as one of Region 11’s Texas Teachers of the Year Essay Winners.

Mr. Benedetti and his wife Kate, who works at UNT, have lived in Denton, Texas for the past ten years. They are the proud parents of a one-year-old son, Leonardo.

Reflecting on his new role, Benedetti shared, “Carroll ISD has always been home to me. It’s where I first discovered my love for music, and it’s an incredible honor to now serve our middle school choir students and programs. I’m excited to help them grow as musicians and leaders while continuing the district’s strong tradition of excellence in the arts.”

WGES Principal Dr. Meredith Davis expressed her excitement about the promotion: “Mr. Benedetti is a gifted educator who brings creativity, energy, and a deep love for students and music to everything he does. His leadership will continue to elevate our middle school choir programs and inspire the next generation of Dragon performers.”
