Senate Bill 12: The "Parental Rights" Bill

Carroll ISD recognizes and affirms the importance of parental involvement and decision-making in their students' education. Senate Bill 12, passed during the 90th Legislative Session, introduces several provisions designed to expand parental rights and engagement. The law emphasizes transparency between schools and families, reinforces parental authority in reviewing instructional materials, and ensures parents are informed participants in decisions that impact their child's learning environment.

Carroll ISD remains committed to working in partnership with parents, honoring both the letter and spirit of SB 12, and continuing our shared mission of supporting student success.
