Resource Recovery Council

In compliance with House Bill 3908 and Texas Education Code §38.040, and with guidance from the School Health Advisory Council (SHAC), Carroll ISD is partnering with Recovery Resource Council to provide fentanyl prevention and drug poisoning awareness education.  Recovery Resource Council is a local Prevention Resource Center funded by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.

Recovery Resource Council will be facilitating an opt-in presentation titled "Alcohol, Tobacco & Other Drugs" for students in grades 6–12. This presentation is designed to help students understand the risks associated with alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs and to provide them with strategies for making healthy, informed decisions.

The presentation will include:
  • Information on the dangers of substance misuse and addiction, particularly the risks of opioids like fentanyl.
  • A discussion on how substance use can impact physical and mental health.
  • Resources available in the community for those who may need help with prevention, intervention, or recovery.
Prevention specialists from the Recovery Resource Council will host a virtual parent information presentation on Tuesday, March 25th at 6:00pm via Zoom.

Parent Information Presentation: If you would like to attend the virtual information session for parents on March 25th at 6:00pm, please register here.  A Zoom link will be provided to you.

Each campus will provide parents with information about the scheduled presentation date and the opt-in form.
