WGES Bunny and Bear Drive
On behalf of Cook Children's Hospital - Fort Worth
March 1 – 30, 2018
Walnut Grove Elementary School will once again be participating in the Bunny & Bear Drive for Cook Children's Hospital. How can you participate? During the month of March 1-30, 2018, bring a NEW stuffed bunny or bear and place in the donation box in the WGES cafeteria or in the Main Hall by the entrance to the Library. In addition to stuffed animals, we will be collecting small toiletries such as travel-size shampoos, soaps, toothbrushes, and toothpastes for families.
The bunnies and bears will be delivered to the hospital as part of an area campaign to provide a stuffed animal to every Cook Children's Hospital patient throughout the year.
The doctors and nurses at Cook Children's Hospital use the stuffed animals to show children what happens if they need a shot, bandage, stitches or surgery so they won't be afraid. Afterwards, the children feel better because they have a nice stuffed animal to hug. Since the children get to take their animal home, the hospital is in constant need of more. Several years ago, the hospital lost its major supplier of stuffed animals, so this campaign is more important than ever!
We hope that we can count on your support this year. Let's all pitch in and put a smile on every face at Cook Children's this year! There are two simple rules we need to follow:
1. The bunnies/bears need to be new. Please no "gently used" animals. This is to ensure they are as clean and germ free as possible.
2. Please do not send bunny/bear with candy attached. Although this is a nice gesture, the hospital does not allow it.
Hello and Welcome to Walnut Grove Elementary School!
We strive to educate students and to assist them in realizing their full potential as responsible, productive, contributing members of society by providing an educational environment in which students are challenged, excellence is expected, and differences are valued.
